Case 1: As part of digital marketing team of a much acclaimed hindi film, our specific role was to develop, implement and monitor, on very very short notice, internet based solutions and applications for various digital marketing initiatives like live celebrity chat, online movie ticket bookings across major US multiplex chains, viral applications, online merchandise, facebook applications, etc.
It was one of the first hindi movie projects in India which used innovative online applications for digital marketing in collaboration with multiple reputed agencies and brands. The success of the film was attributed largely due to its well conducted and innovative digital marketing effort which was later a subject of marketing management study and adopted by many other businesses.
The management of RiG Services was previously associated with India's first online celebrity chat events, contests and movie promotions and that experience helped ensure smooth technical implementation of various digital marketing concepts. The project was a pleasent benchmark learning experience as well as a showcase and was appreciated even in Hollywood.
Case 2: Around the same time, a well established business house in an obscure town of Central India came up with the city's first mall and multiplex. It demonstrates how technical efficiency can ensure business advantage in a difficult and un-organised market. The challange was to implement a website with online ticketing system so people from remote places could easily get all the information, schedules, reviews and book tickets from the comfort of their home in real time. The biggest challanges in the project were, setting up infrastructure and processes where none existed, very limited budget, lack of co-operation from an unskilled executive staff and an obsolete, buggy and unscalable legacy ticketing software system.
The deployment of online system required collaborating with various agencies, gateway provider, multiplex management, service providers, etc. and technical tasks included router and server configuration, cross platform web services application [- a rare and technically complex solution] development, feeds and secure interface implementation with various features for administration of schedules, bookings, reports, etc.
The real time online ticket booking system is one of the first of its kind for stand-alone multiplex in India and is working smoothly since then to the satisfaction of multiplex owner as well as their customers.
News Publishing System:
Various type and scale of Content Management and Publishing Systems including feeds, localization, news transfer, mailers, websites, etc. have been developed and deployed on various web technology platforms for dozens of publications as per their specific needs. RiG Services developed one of the first localised web based news publishing system using unicode devnaagari with features like RSS feed, etc.
The exposure and understanding of RiG Services in news and publishing domain backs many years when online infrastructure was not in place and alternative methods of file and data transfer, fixed line modems, fax, etc. were used, in conjunction with print media. The in-depth experience enables to fulfill all types of publishing and information transfer requirements in most optimal manner.
Retail:
One of the business products for accounts and inventory management is being used by various retail shops for up-keep of inventory, sales, procurement, accounts, etc. For example, a reputed luggage shop is using the same to keep track of daily sales and income, and analyse reports for sales patterns, procurement decisions, etc. The software has helped drastically improve their efficiency.
On the other hand, the e-commerce solution has helped one of the largest photo stores of Mumbai to sell a range of photo and electronic products online. The order and payment can be made through website or affiliate channels and delivery can be taken either from nearest retail outlet or by post. Another case is a UK based retail product supplier whose website costs were recovered within the first week of launch of website.
The diverse situations of retail business were addressed with different solutions specific to their requirements.
Business Incubation:
